Burnout Revenge Bites back...hard
Recently on September 15, Burnout: Revenge was released for PS2 and Xbox. It's the follow-up to Burnout 3: Takedown.
To me, Burnout is the racing game for non-racing game fans. There no checkered flags or "moving up the ranks" as a street racer. As you play, your rank increases but the storyline is just to finish every level; very arcade style.
The game has a lot of new improvements like charge up in crash mode, traffic slamming, the game feels much more fast paced and I like it much better. Even with these new improvements, some people find it less fun and more difficult. For example, my friend likes burnout 3 because he only plays the game for crash mode and he didn't do it to get the best score, he did it to relieve stress after all the teachers yelled at him. The charge up, to him, makes the game seem too complex and useless. He, along with other people find the 3rd game better.
Visually, this game is stunning. Feeling in the driver's seat is done perfectly in this game. When you hit the gas, you feel it. When you bash that car, you feel it. When you Jump off a ramp, suspend in the air for 4 seconds and smash down on your opponent, you pause the game, scream "WHOOO-HOOOO!" take a deep breath and speed you way through the rest of the level with your adrenaline pumped. If you've got surround sound, not only do you feel it, you feel more incased in this world when the cars zip past you and you really know.
Like always, the soundtrack in this game is great. I'm a rock fan, and to anyone that likes rock music, popular or not, Burnout's got it. On Xbox, you can use custom soundtracks but I like the burnout soundtrack the best. To see the complete list of songs: click
